Yuletide

I was abit sad that nobody nominated TB for yuletide this year. I’d loved to offer it (and it would probably have been my fourth request, too). I really would need a prompt to write more for my beloved fandom.

But I’m very happy with my assignment. It’s something I never wrote before and the request is right up my alley with room for interesting character exploration. I’ll do some canon review this weekend and then I’ll get to plotting and writing this thing! :D

I hope you’re having fun with the exchange and enjoy your yuletide 2012! Thank you for writing in one of my rare fandoms. I’ll appreciate any fic you’ll come up with as it will be fic for any one of these small fandoms that are all equally close to my heart.

All the things I write here are, of course, optional and you can completely disregard them. But if you want to know a little about my likes and dislikes and why I love these fandoms - here it goes:

I do like all sorts of pairings: het, slash/femslash/yaoi/yuri and moresomes. Sex in stories is fine, although I’d rather not read anything that caters to hardcore kinks. I don’t like gender-stereotyping and character bashing.

I also do love good old gen and am completely happy to see the characters everything from normal day to day stuff to outrageous adventures. I tend to read stories on the more angsty side of the spectrum, but occasionally I enjoy a good dose of humour, too.

Am I reading this right? We have a [livejournal.com profile] yuletide post in early September and nominations open at the end of the month??? \^.^/ Oh my god, yuletide!

My nominations are pretty set (even my letter is half written :P ). No surprises really. My nominations will be pretty much in line with last year and my Parallels nomination.

Yuletide is coming!

My first yuletide went great! My recipient did seem to like the fic I’ve written: So the most important mission was accomplished. :)
And also I’ve got a wonderful fic from my yuletide writer in a fandom that is (obviously) very dear to my heart:

House and Home (2625 words) by Anonymous
Fandom: Tokyo Babylon
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Sumeragi Subaru
Summary:

Sometimes, Subaru's job breaks his heart. And other times everyday life does, too.

It focuses entirely on Subaru and his job as onmyouji and is just wonderful! Go check it out if you know TB at all. :D
Now that Christmas is over I can hopefully find the time to browse the collection for a bit!

yuletide was so much fun that I actually want to sit down and write next years yuletide letter right now.

I can’t believe it! Over a hundred stories were already added to the [livejournal.com profile] yuletide collection on Ao3! (Don’t click if you don’t want to look at the fandoms... Could spoil you.)

I haven’t even finished half of my story, yet! O.o Some people are really fast...

Yuletide and stories on Ao3

My nominations for [livejournal.com profile] yuletide were approved, yeah! Signu-ps should start soonish.

I thought it might be a good time to start uploading at least some of my older fics, but I’m really slow at sifting through them and at least polish them a little before uploading. I’ve found some really interesting stuff that I had nearly forgotten about, but it will be some time before it’s presentable.
So all I’ve managed to put up on Ao3 (faviconSubarukun) until now were three short pieces. I promise more is to come. :D

Yuletide flailing has begun!

It’s going to be my first [livejournal.com profile] yuletide, so the new nominations procedure is no change for me, but it is. of course, for all the regular participants. The nominations will take place on AO3 and a tutorial is up, although nominations haven’t started, yet.

I hope some people will nominate some more obscure anime fandoms and just participate! There is no better way to get your part of fandom included and recognized than participating.

There are post up to check wether your fandom is too big or someone is already nominating it (with characters), if you’re interested.

I’m gearing up to take part in yuletide for the first time this year. :) And I’m so excited!

The nice thing about it is that you can be part of it even if you only read and comment on stories. If you want to get involved with the amazing Holiday exchange or want to know what it’s all about, a nice person has done a write up, of what is there to do at yuletide that goes beyond signing up for the exchange.
